Show this Weekend

Just a quick note, this is the reason I haven’t blogged in a few days..tomorrow is the annual competition that we promote, the Sandra Wickham Fall Classic Bodybuilding, Fitness, Figure and Bikini Championships. (that’s a mouthful isn’t it? It’s grown over the years!)

Promoting the show is a TON of work. We have over 100 athletes competing, about 800-900 spectators, judges, volunteers, sponsors etc, all to organize. I’ve been competing for over ten years, and made it to the highest level as an IFBB Professional, so I may be a bit "worn out" of the whole thing and eagerly awaiting Sunday when it’s all over….BUT having these novice level competitors at our show, all wide eyed, energized, terrified and mystified just makes me smile. It’s a huge deal for them, they’ve worked hard for months, some even years for this event. I wish them all the best for a great experience and lasting memories!!

  1. Sounds like you’ve been busy. Don’t forget to have fun tomorrow 🙂

  2. My dad actually started getting really into weight lifting and these shows when he turned 50. He has done a ton of shows and he looks fantastic now!! It’s kinda weird to see your dad in a spray on tan and a speedo though=)

  3. Sounds Cool! Hope everything runs smoothly 🙂

  4. Wow, sounds like a lot of work, but the energy radiating there when it all comes together must be worth it. Hope everything went off without a hitch. 🙂

  5. Thanks. It’s pretty hectic, but we survived, athletes were happy, audience, sponsors were happy, volunteers were awesome…overall it went great!

  6. LMAO! That’s AWESOME! We always have a grandmaster class, this year we only had one competitor for it though. He was 77.

  7. Thanks, it is pretty frickin’ cool, I forget sometimes since I’m caught up in the chaos…but ya, it’s cool! 😉

  8. Thanks-it was a great event. Few problems with the theatre tech stuff, but we ran with it and everyone was really happy!
